Spring Break 2025

Monday 28th April – Thursday 1st May 2025

A Letter from James

Overview :

Though few books might be considered to be more practical, the lessons from James need to be seen within their original context in order to best appreciate their importance for God’s people today.

We will consider the matters of authorship and setting by way of an introduction to our study of the text, which we will explore at a very accessible pace. We will pay attention to practical aspects of faith in relation to the life of the believer, whilst exploring some of the major biblical themes addressed by this remarkable character.

Speaker : Patrick Boyns

Patrick has been teaching the Scriptures with the British Bible School for some 35 years and has served as its principal since 2001. He regularly teaches, both online and in the classroom, throughout the UK and occasionally overseas.

Born in London, at 19 he moved to Scotland where he was born again. Patrick has served with several congregations in the UK, oversees a summer youth camp in Scotland, and loves to teach and preach. He has been involved in an archaeological dig at Tel Beth-Shemesh in Israel.

Interests include fell-walking, media production and antiquities.

His wife, June sadly passed away in September 2011, since when their three children Shanae, Aubrey and Rachelle have all married. He has six adorable grandchildren, Haven, Joseph, Darcie, Benjamin Patrick, Theron and Elijah Melchizedek – aged 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1, number seven is on the way!
